Surakarta, March 18, 2025 – The Bachelor of Science Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FKIP UNS), successfully organized a workshop on the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. This event aimed to provide a deeper understanding of the MBKM program’s concept and implementation to enhance the quality of higher education in Indonesia. The event also featured Focus Group Discussions (FGD), wherein participants engaged in in-depth discussions, exchanged insights and provided constructive feedback to enhance collaboration in teaching, research, and community service. Furthermore, a comprehensive evaluation session was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the MBKM program’s implementation in partner schools. This session facilitated the exchange of experiences, the identification of key challenges, and the formulation of strategic recommendations to refine and optimize future program execution.
The workshop featured two distinguished speakers, Prof. Dr. Edy Cahyono, M.Si. and Diah Pitaloka Handriani, S.Pd., M.Pd.. Prof. Dr. Edy Cahyono, M.Si., highlighted the significance of the MBKM program in producing graduates who are adaptable, innovative, and well-prepared to face workforce challenges. Meanwhile, Diah Pitaloka Handriani, S.Pd., M.Pd., discussed strategies for implementing MBKM at FKIP UNS, addressing both challenges and solutions.
The Dean of FKIP UNS, represented by the Vice Dean for Academic and Research Affairs, Dr. paed. Nurma Yunita Indriyanti, M.Si., M.Sc., emphasized in her speech that the MBKM program is a strategic initiative designed to enhance students’ competitiveness through more flexible, industry-based learning experiences.

In addition to the invited stakeholders, the event was attended by all faculty members of the Bachelor of Science Education Program at FKIP UNS and MBKM participant students. With the successful execution of this workshop, it is hoped that more students and educators will be well-prepared to implement the MBKM program effectively, ultimately contributing to improving education quality in Indonesia.
