
Surakarta, June 2, 2025 -The Undergraduate Science Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), successfully held a workshop on SDGs-oriented science learning, taking place on Monday, June 2, 2025, at UNS Tower, 5th Floor, Classroom 3.
The workshop carried the theme:
“Design and Evaluation of Semester Learning Plans (RPS) Based on Case Method and Project-Based Learning through Deep Learning in SDGs-Oriented Science Education.”
The workshop was officially opened by Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Imam Sujadi, M.Si., together with the Vice Dean for Academic and Research Affairs, Dr. paed. Nurma Yunita Indriyanti, M.Si., M.Sc. In their remarks, they emphasized the importance of continuous innovation in instructional design to address the demands of 21st-century education and global challenges reflected in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This event featured a keynote session delivered by Prof. Dr. Phil. Ari Widodo, M.Ed., an esteemed expert in science education. In his session, Prof. Ari Widodo shared insights on how educators can meaningfully integrate Case Method and Project-Based Learning into Semester Learning Plans (RPS), applying Deep Learning principles to enhance student engagement and understanding.
Participants were guided in designing and evaluating Semester Learning Plans (RPS) that align science content with key issues addressed in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as environmental sustainability, health, clean energy, and responsible consumption.
This workshop reflects a growing commitment within the Science Education Program at FKIP UNS to ensure that science education not only delivers knowledge, but also empowers future educators and learners to become active contributors to sustainable development.
