Surakarta, September 21, 2024 – The Science Education Student Association (HIMADIKPA) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) held the 2024 Science Education Design Training virtually through a digital platform. This event aimed to enhance the design skills of Science Education students, particularly in supporting innovation in educational media development.
The training session, conducted on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 8:00 AM WIB until completion, was officially opened by Dr. Paed Nurma Yunita, M.Si., M.Sc., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Research of FKIP UNS. In her opening remarks, she commended HIMADIKPA’s initiative in organizing an activity that aligns with students’ needs in the digital era. “Such activities are essential to prepare students to face the challenges of modern education, where design skills are crucial for creating creative and interactive learning media,” she stated.
The training featured Wahyu Three Rismawan, a professional graphic design practitioner, as the keynote speaker. During the session, participants received hands-on guidance on using design software, tips for creating engaging educational media designs, and techniques for enhancing visual appeal in academic presentations.
The event, attended by students from various cohorts, received positive feedback. A participant from the 2023 cohort shared their enthusiasm: “The materials were highly practical and can be directly applied to our coursework. Thank you to HIMADIKPA for organizing such a beneficial event.”
The Chairperson of the 2024 Design Training, a student from the 2022 Science Education cohort, expressed gratitude to all parties who supported the event. “We hope this activity provides tangible benefits for participants in developing innovative and effective educational media,” he remarked.
With the successful implementation of this training, HIMADIKPA UNS once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the competence development of Science Education students. Similar activities are hoped to continue in the future.
