Surakarta, September 7-8, 2024 – The 2024 Science Education Festival (SEF), an annual event organized by the Science Education Student Association (HIMADIKPA) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), was successfully held over two days. The event featured a Grand Opening, Poster Competition, Essay Competition, and Webinar, conducted on September 7 and 8, 2024.

Day One: Grand Opening and Poster & Essay Competitions

The event officially commenced on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the UNS Auditorium. The Grand Opening was conducted solemnly, attended by lecturers, students, and participants from various regions. In his opening remarks, the Chairperson of SEF 2024, Catur Al Malik Arga Nugraha, stated that the event aimed to explore the intellectual potential of students and enhance their understanding of science education.

Following the opening ceremony, the activities proceeded with the Poster Competition and Essay Competition. The Poster Competition served as a platform for participants to present their ideas and research in visually appealing and informative formats, while the Essay Competition challenged participants to write essays featuring innovative ideas related to science education themes. Participants presented their work before a panel of judges comprising FKIP UNS lecturers and education practitioners. The evaluation focused on originality, creativity, clarity, and the relevance of ideas.

Day Two: Inspirational Webinar

On Sunday, September 8, 2024, the event continued with the SEF Webinar held virtually via Zoom. The webinar featured inspiring speakers who discussed current issues in science education, innovative teaching methods, and challenges in the digital era. The webinar attracted not only UNS students but also students from various other universities.

Participants expressed their appreciation to HIMADIKPA for organizing SEF 2024. One participant remarked, “SEF 2024 provided a valuable experience and broadened my insights, both through the competitions and the inspiring webinar.”
