The Undergraduate Science Education Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) has once again achieved an outstanding milestone by obtaining international accreditation from the Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN). This certification is effective from March 22, 2024, to September 30, 2029, reflecting recognition of the program’s educational quality in line with international standards.
This accomplishment is due in large part to the leadership of Dr. paed. Nurma Yunita Indriyanti, M.Si., M.Sc., Head of the Undergraduate Science Education Program. Together with her team, she successfully guided the program to meet ASIIN’s stringent criteria, which include competency-based curricula, innovative teaching approaches, and alignment with global needs in science education.
The ASIIN accreditation confirms that the program meets Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework for Life-Long Learning (EQF LLL), signifying its alignment with higher education standards in Europe. With the option of full-time study, the Undergraduate Science Education Program at FKIP UNS is now on par with other leading international educational institutions.
In her address, Dr. paed. Nurma Yunita Indriyanti expressed gratitude and appreciation to all those who contributed to this achievement. “This accomplishment is the result of our collective hard work. With this accreditation, we are committed to continuing to provide the best education, preparing competent graduates capable of competing globally,” she stated.
This achievement aligns with FKIP UNS’s vision: “To be a center for the development of science, technology, and art in the fields of teacher training and education with an international reputation, grounded in the noble values of national culture.” With this spirit, FKIP UNS continues to demonstrate its dedication to generating innovations in education and building an international reputation. It is hoped that this success will increase interest in the Undergraduate Science Education Program at FKIP UNS among both local and international students and will continue to produce highly competent graduates in the field of science education.
