FKIP – The Natural Sciences Education Study Program (IPA) of the Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held an innovative hybrid learning workshop through zoom meetings and offline at UNS Inn on Friday (12/8/2022).

Innovative learning workshops are activities organized by the Science Education Study Program as a means to improve innovative and interesting learning.

On that occasion, Bayu Antrakusuma, S.Pd., M.Pd., as the chairman of the committee, submitted a report regarding this workshop.

“We carried out this innovative learning workshop based on our desire to improve the human resources of the FKIP UNS Science Education study program in terms of computer literacy used in Industrial 4.0 era learning,” said Bayu.

The workshop was opened by Dr. paed. Nurma Yunita Indriyanti, M.Sc., M.Sc., as the Head of the Science Education Study Program.

“We need to improve computer literacy, learning media literacy so that when we make products, we don’t only know the educational theory, but also technically. So, we want to make a special feature of the UNS Science Education study program where the strength is where,” said Dr. paed. Nurma.

This workshop presents Dr. Wandah Wibawanto, M.Ds. as a resource person. In his presentation, Dr. Wandah delivered a material entitled “Development of Educational Media ‘Innovative Science Learning’”.

“The basic concept of developing educational applications is multidisciplinary or cross-disciplinary,” explained Dr. Wandah.

Dr. Wandah explained material on the use of Adobe Animate as a learning medium.

“The Adobe Animate that we are going to learn can be used for various things if we can. We can bring it to Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and virtual laboratories,” he explained.

Dr. Wandah explained that the existence of the media can benefit students, namely students can try without fear of being wrong or causing a bad impact and can find out in more detail the object under study.

In addition, Adobe Animate is considered to have advantages when used as an application to create learning media, which is multiplatform and flexible.

Next, Dr. Wandah delivered applications that can be used as virtual laboratories, including Algodoo, Phet, and Myphysicslab.

Dr. Wandah also did a simulation using Adobe Animate with the participants. In the simulation, Dr. Wandah explained in detail each menu and how to operate it.

The presentation ended with a question and answer session and documentation.
